Artist Profile

My artistic practise began when I was five. My grandad brought me my first sketchbook, along with a book including a step by step guide on how to draw mythical characters. From then on I drew portraits and observational drawings.

When I attended high school I was introduced to other mediums such as acrylic and oil paints. This pushed me to take my skills of realistic drawings and combine them with my new found skills. I found that when painting I started creating my own scenes and become very interested in surrealism, getting a lot of inspiration from Salvador Dali.

I took my passion of creating and began to use clay for a lot of my projects.

After experimenting with many techniques and materials, I decided to look at designs closer to my personality. I have recently started skateboarding again and was reminded by how important the street culture movement was. One of my favourite artists that change the skate world is Jim Phillips, much of his work started skate culture and I find his art interesting in many different ways. Encouraging me to take up a career in Graphic Design, while focusing on skate designs.
